Krystle D’Souza, who has impressed audiences with her stellar performances in the web show Fittrat, the movie Visfot, and the web series First Copy, sees Independence Day as more than just a celebration. For her, it’s a time to reflect on the stories, songs, and ideals that ignite her sense of patriotism. In an exclusive conversation, she revealed her favourite patriotic movie and song, and shared her thoughts on India’s journey as well as her hopes for the future.
When asked about the patriotic movie and song that holds a special place in her heart, Krystle didn’t hesitate: “Rang De Basanti is my all-time favorite patriotic movie. The song ‘Teri Mitti’ from Kesari moves me deeply and gives me goosebumps every time I hear it,” she said.
Reflecting on India’s journey over the past seven decades, Krystle expressed immense pride in the country’s progress, especially in the role women have played in shaping it. “India today is a global powerhouse, and I’m proud that women have been central to this progress. We’ve moved from being told our place to owning spaces everywhere from boardrooms and parliaments to fighter cockpits and even outer space. Education for girls has improved significantly,” she shared.
However, for Krystle, true progress still lies ahead. She believes the nation must continue striving for inclusivity and equality, “The real victory will be achieved when we have stronger infrastructure, quality education and healthcare for all, cleaner cities, and a society where equality and opportunity are not privileges but fundamental rights that every Indian can rely on,” she emphasised.
Her words are both a celebration of India’s achievements and a call to action urging the nation to keep building a future rooted in unity, equality, and opportunity for all.
Krystle is known for her roles in TV shows such as Kya Dill Mein Hai, Katuri, Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, and many more. After making her web series debut in 2019 with ALTBalaji’s Fittrat, Krystle went on to make her acting debut with Chehre in 2021. She was also seen in the film Visfot, alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan. Sanjay Gupta directed the film, which was published digitally on JioHotstar. Most recently, she was seen in First Copy with Munawar Faruqui.
