Staten Island University Hospital offering paid internship program, EMT scholarships
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) has announced two programs aimed at fostering the next generation of health-care professionals: The Executive Healthcare Internship (EHI) program and the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) scholarship program.
Executive Healthcare Internship (EHI)
SIUH is now accepting applications for the Executive Healthcare Internship (EHI), a paid summer program designed for current college juniors and seniors with ties to the Staten Island community.
This unique internship offers students the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in health-care administration and operations through mentorship and project-based learning.
It will take place from June 2 though Aug. 8, 2025. The application deadline is Friday, Dec. 2.
Participants in the EHI program will work closely with a director-level mentor on projects that encompass hospital operations, project management, financial analysis and community outreach.
Interns will also attend hospital-wide meetings and didactic learning sessions, concluding the internship with a final presentation to executive leadership.
“This is an invaluable opportunity for students with a passion for healthcare management to immerse themselves in the fast-paced environment of one of New York State’s leading healthcare providers,” said an SIUH spokesperson.

10 full scholarships for EMT training

Scholarship recipients will attend EMT courses provided by the Training Institute for Medical Emergencies and Rescue, with the next session starting in February 2025.
SIUH is dedicated to providing cutting-edge care while supporting the development of future health-care professionals through innovative programs like the EHI and EMT scholarship initiatives, the announcement said.
These scholarships offer a pathway for Staten Islanders who are passionate about emergency medical services to begin a fulfilling career while serving their community.
Applicants must submit their age, address and phone number, as well as an unofficial high school or college transcript and a cover letter answering the question: Why do you want to be an EMT?
A letter of recommendation and a copy of a valid driver’s license are also required.
Interested individuals should apply by emailing [email protected] with the required materials.
